Job summary

A leading asset management and infrastructure solutions company in Sabah is seeking a Civil Engineering Supervisor with at least 7 years of experience in construction site supervision. The ideal candidate should possess a Diploma or Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and be a certified Inspector of Works. This role ensures compliance with safety standards and thorough inspection processes for road and bridge projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of proven working experience in construction site supervision.
• Certified Inspector of Works registered under the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
• Solid understanding of construction quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure approved materials and methods are used by WPC.
• Inspect works as per the requested dates by WPC.
• Witness testing of materials and workmanship.
• Prepare lists of required attention points for work inspection.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Ensure approved materials are used, correct method and workmanships are adopted by WPC.
• Ensure works are carried out as per the Construction Drawings for the correct dimension, levels, locations etc.
• Inspect WPC’s work in stages as per the date and time requested by WPC.
• Witness testing of all materials and work done as per the date and time requested by WPC.
• Take note of site instructions and any other relevant directives onto the drawings used in inspection, to ensure that they are taken into account.
• Prepare a written list of any points which may require attention, in concurrence with the RE, where the WPC has asked for the inspection. The COW is to check the points have been rectified or agreed to before the work is covered, as the case may be.
• Inform WPC and ARE should WPC fail to comply with the Safety, Health, Environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 year(s) proven working experience in construction site supervision, ideally in road and bridge projects.
• Certified Inspector of Works (registered under Board of Engineers Malaysia)
• Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of Malaysian construction regulations and safety standards.
