IMPIAN MEWAH RESOURCES in Penang seeks a dedicated Cleaner to join our facilities team as a full-time employee. You will perform daily cleaning, sanitisation, and upkeep of our premises to maintain high hygiene standards and a welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Key requirements include prior cleaning experience, keen attention to detail, physical fitness, reliability, and knowledge of cleaning products and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitisation of all assigned areas including floors, walls, surfaces and fixtures.
• Empty and replace waste bins and ensure proper disposal.
• Clean and maintain bathrooms/restrooms to high hygiene standards.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and polish floors throughout the facility.
• Dust furniture, shelving and office equipment; clean windows and glass surfaces.
• Restock toilet paper, soap, towels; report maintenance issues promptly.
• Follow health, safety and environmental protocols; manage cleaning equipment and chemicals.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join the team at IMPIAN MEWAH RESOURCES in Penang. This is a full-time position offering a rewarding opportunity to maintain and enhance the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our facilities. As a Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our premises remain pristine, safe, and welcoming for all staff, clients, and visitors. Your work directly contributes to creating a professional and healthy working environment that reflects the standards and values of our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitisation of all assigned areas, including floors, walls, surfaces, and fixtures
• Empty and replace waste bins and ensure proper disposal of rubbish in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Clean and maintain bathrooms and restrooms to the highest hygiene standards
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and polish floors throughout the facility
• Dust furniture, shelving, and office equipment
• Clean windows, mirrors and glass surfaces
• Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels
• Report any maintenance issues or damage to management promptly
• Follow all health, safety and environmental protocols
• Maintain and properly store cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Work flexibly to accommodate cleaning schedules that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Cleaner or in a similar cleaning role within the commercial or hospitality sector
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Physical fitness and ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderately heavy items
• Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment and safe handling procedures
• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Good communication skills and a professional demeanour
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the cleaning industry
• Valid work permit or visa (where applicable) for Malaysia
• Preferred: Experience with industrial or commercial cleaning equipment
• Preferred: Basic knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in cleaning
