Responsibilities

• Verify, assess, and approve claims within delegated authority promptly.
• Process, recommend, and submit claims exceeding authority limits for approval.
• Ensure adjusters are appointed promptly within turnaround times.
• Monitor claims and review monthly bordereaux reports on status.
• Coordinate discussions with adjusters on complex or contentious claims.
• Attend bordereaux meetings to review progress and issues.
• Evaluate performance of adjusters and report findings to leadership.
• Provide technical claims guidance to staff, branches, and customers.
• Escalate customer complaints to senior management for resolution.
• Identify potential fraud or policy breaches for review.
• Conduct periodic claim file reviews for proper documentation.
• Submit notifications and reports to MNRB and treaty reinsurers.
• Drive higher monthly claim closure rates while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Pursue and monitor claim recoveries to optimize outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the company.

About The Role

We are looking for a motivated Claims Executive to join our team at RHB Insurance Berhad. In this role, you'll be responsible for assessing, managing, and settling insurance claims in a fair, timely, and professional manner while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines. You will work closely with customers, branches, adjusters, intermediaries, and reinsurers to deliver effective claims resolution and maintain a high standard of customer service.

What You Will Be Doing

• Verify, assess, and approve claims within the delegated authority limit in a timely manner.
• Process, recommend, and submit claims exceeding authority limits to the appropriate approving authority for consideration.
• Ensure adjusters are appointed promptly within the stipulated turnaround time.
• Monitor claims handled by adjusters closely and review monthly bordereaux reports on claim status.
• Coordinate and participate in discussions with adjusters on complex or contentious claims when required.
• Attend monthly bordereaux meetings with panel adjusters to review claim progress and outstanding matters.
• Evaluate and monitor the performance of adjusters and report findings to the Unit Head and Head of BA/FA.
• Provide technical claims guidance and support to subordinates, branches, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Escalate complaints received from customers, branches, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), PIAM, OFS, and intermediaries to the Unit Head or Head of BA/FA for prompt resolution.
• Identify and escalation claims suspected of fraud or breaches of policy conditions to the Section Head, Head of BA/FA, or CEO where appropriate.
• Conduct periodic reviews of claim files to ensure proper documentation and adherence to claims management standards.
• Ensure all required notifications and reports to MNRB and Treaty Reinsurers (XOL/Surplus) are submitted in accordance with reinsurance agreements.
• Drive higher monthly claim closure rates while maintaining service quality and compliance standards.
• Actively pursue and monitor claim recoveries to optimize claims outcomes.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Company from time to time.

What We're Looking For

• A Bachelor's Degree in related discipline from an institution recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
• Professional insurance qualifications such as AII, AMII, ACII, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Experience in handling claims across various classes of insurance, including investigation, assessment, settlement, and recovery processes.
• Good understanding of insurance principles, policy wordings, claims procedures, and industry regulations.
• Familiarity with BNM, PIAM, reinsurance, and regulatory requirements related to claims management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound claims decisions.
• Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
• Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
