Job summary

Malayan Flour Mills Berhad in Malaysia seeks a Manager, Project (Civil & Structural) to lead planning, design coordination, and execution of capital projects across our manufacturing operations, delivering safe, on-time, and on-budget results.

The role requires a strong background in consultancy and project management, with hands-on experience managing consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant project management experience.
• Experience working with an engineering consultant or engineering consultancy is mandatory.
• Proven experience reviewing consultant designs, specifications, tender documents, and engineering deliverables.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors, suppliers, and statutory authorities.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, contract administration, and construction management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience working for, or closely with, engineering consultants in delivering industrial or manufacturing projects will be highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural engineering projects from planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project completion.
• Review engineering designs, technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents prepared by consultants to ensure compliance, constructability, and value engineering.
• Coordinate closely with Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical consultants to ensure project requirements are fully integrated.
• Manage consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities throughout project execution.
• Oversee tendering, contractor evaluation, contract negotiations, progress claims, variation orders, EOT, LAD, and final account administration.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, risks, and overall project performance.
• Collaborate with plant operations and engineering teams to ensure facilities and utilities support operational requirements.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management.
• Ensure project documentation and engineering records are properly maintained.
