Job summary

Fluor in Malaysia is seeking a senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead all civil and structural activities on a major project. You will ensure compliance with codes, standards, and contractual obligations while coordinating interfaces with architectural, mechanical, electrical and process teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering and at least 10 years' experience in industrial facilities, foundations, piling, and steel/RC design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years' experience in civil and structural engineering, incl. industrial structures, foundations and piling.
• Experience in design, construction and supervision of structural steel, reinforced concrete, building foundations and industrial facilities.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, cleanroom, data centre, semiconductor or similar complex facilities.
• PEng registration with BEM preferred.
• Malaysian candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all civil and structural engineering activities for the project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, statutory requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Provide technical leadership for structural steel works, piling, foundations, reinforced concrete structures, building envelope interfaces, roofing systems, site civil works, and related infrastructure.
• Review and approve civil and structural designs, calculations, geotechnical recommendations, shop drawings, method statements, fabrication drawings, and contractor submissions.
• Coordinate civil and structural interfaces with architectural, mechanical, electrical, cleanroom, process, commissioning and construction teams for integrated delivery.
• Monitor contractor performance for quality, safety, schedule, piling activities, structural erection, inspections, testing, and compliance with project requirements.
• Support constructability reviews, technical evaluations, value engineering, risk management, change control, and resolution of civil/structural issues.
• Participate in site inspections, structural assessments, construction activities, testing, handover and close-out of CSA works.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.

• Minimum 10 years' experience in civil and structural engineering, including industrial structures, foundations, and piling works.

• Experience in the design, construction, and supervision of structural steel, reinforced concrete, building foundations, and industrial facilities.

• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, cleanroom, data centre, semiconductor, or similar complex facilities.

• PMC/Owner's Engineer experience and semiconductor project experience will be an added advantage.

• Strong working knowledge of structural analysis, geotechnical coordination, piling execution, construction sequencing, quality control, and site engineering practices.

• Professional Engineer (PEng) registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is preferred.

• Malaysian candidate preferred.
