Job summary

Fluor Corp in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead civil and structural activities for industrial facilities. You will provide technical leadership across steel, foundations, and site works, review designs and shop drawings, and coordinate with architecture, MEP, and construction teams.

The role requires 10+ years in civil/structural engineering, experience with industrial facilities, and preferred PEng registration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in civil and structural engineering for industrial facilities.
• Proven design review, calculation review, and submission approvals.
• Experience with steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, and piling.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, cleanroom, data centre, semiconductor facilities is preferred.
• Professional Engineer registration in Malaysia (BEM) is a plus.

• Lead all civil and structural engineering activities, ensuring compliance with codes and contractual obligations.
• Provide technical leadership for steel works, foundations, and site civil works.
• Review and approve designs, shop drawings, and method statements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all civil and structural engineering activities for the project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, statutory requirements, and contractual obligations.

• Provide technical leadership for structural steel works, piling, foundations, reinforced concrete structures, building envelope interfaces, roofing systems, site civil works, and associated infrastructure.

• Review and approve civil and structural designs, calculations, geotechnical recommendations, shop drawings, method statements, fabrication drawings, and contractor technical submissions.

• Coordinate civil and structural interfaces with architectural, mechanical, electrical, cleanroom, process, commissioning, and construction teams to support integrated project delivery.

• Monitor contractor performance for quality, safety, schedule, piling activities, structural erection, inspections, testing, and compliance with project requirements.

• Support constructability reviews, technical evaluations, value engineering initiatives, risk management, change control, and resolution of civil and structural engineering issues.

• Participate in site inspections, structural assessments, construction activities, testing, handover, and close-out of CSA (Civil, Structural and Architectural) works.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.

• Minimum 10 years' experience in civil and structural engineering, including industrial structures, foundations, and piling works.

• Experience in the design, construction, and supervision of structural steel, reinforced concrete, building foundations, and industrial facilities.

• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, cleanroom, data centre, semiconductor, or similar complex facilities.

• PMC/Owner's Engineer experience and semiconductor project experience will be an added advantage.

• Strong working knowledge of structural analysis, geotechnical coordination, piling execution, construction sequencing, quality control, and site engineering practices.

• Professional Engineer (PEng) registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is preferred.

• Malaysian candidate preferred.
