Job summary

WKL Design Sdn Bhd seeks a Civil & Structural Engineer to lead projects from design through construction, acting as Project PIC. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors while ensuring design integrity and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years in civil/structural engineering, especially in consultancy, with proficiency in major design tools and BIM awareness. Based in Malaysia, this role focuses on project ownership and tight coordination across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 3–4 years’ civil and structural engineering experience, preferably in consultancy.
• Experience with structural analysis and design.
• Knowledge of high-rise, steel structures or BIM is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ESTEEM, TEKLA, STAAD.Pro, MES or LOOP.

Job description

We are looking for a Civil & Structural Engineer to join our team as a Project Person-in-Charge (PIC). The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from design and coordination through construction and completion, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead assigned projects from design development to site completion.

Coordinate and chair client, consultant and site meetings.

Perform structural analysis and design in accordance with relevant codes and project requirements.

Prepare and review drawings, calculations, reports and technical documents.

Coordinate civil & structural works with architects, M&E consultants and contractors.

Review shop drawings, material submissions, method statements and technical proposals.

Resolve design, technical and construction issues and monitor project progress.

Ensure projects meet quality, programme, budget and statutory requirements.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

3–4 years’ relevant experience in civil & structural engineering, preferably in consultancy.

Practical experience in structural analysis and design.

Experience in high-rise buildings, steel structures or BIM is an advantage.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, ESTEEM, TEKLA, STAAD.Pro, MES or LOOP.

Good knowledge of structural design, construction practices and project coordination.

Strong communication, problem-solving and project ownership skills.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin proficiency will be an added advantage for communication and coordination with clients from China and Taiwan.
