Job summary

SHBT Services Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for a one-year contract to coordinate and supervise civil construction for oil and gas projects, including PETRONAS facilities. You will plan, survey sites, supervise earthworks, concrete works, foundations, and roadworks, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.

The role requires a Diploma in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, willingness to travel, and a valid

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum five years of relevant civil/construction experience.
• Ability to read and understand civil drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil Engineering software.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise civil construction activities at project sites.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections, measurements and technical assessments.
• Supervise earthworks, excavation, backfilling, soil compaction and site prep.
• Supervise reinforced concrete works including formwork, reinforcement, pouring and curing.
• Coordinate foundations, equipment bases, pipe supports and concrete slabs.
• Oversee roadworks, drainage, culverts and sewerage works.
• Monitor piling works and foundation construction where applicable.
• Review drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Check materials against approved specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, surveyors and suppliers.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team on a one-year contract basis. Our company undertakes civil engineering works for various oil and gas projects, including projects at PETRONAS facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising civil construction activities to ensure that all work is completed safely and according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and schedules.

Key responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil construction activities at project sites

Conduct site surveys, inspections, measurements, and technical assessments

Supervise earthworks, excavation, backfilling, soil compaction, and site preparation

Supervise reinforced concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring, and curing

Coordinate the construction of foundations, equipment bases, pipe supports, concrete slabs, and bund walls

Supervise roadworks, pavement works, drainage systems, culverts, and sewerage works

Monitor piling works and foundation construction, where applicable

Review civil drawings, construction details, specifications, and method statements

Check construction materials and ensure they comply with approved specifications

Coordinate civil work with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, surveyors, and suppliers

About you

Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field

Minimum five years of relevant working experience in civil engineering or construction

Good knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, inspections, and quality requirements

Able to read and understand civil construction drawings and specifications

Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and relevant civil engineering software

Good communication, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills

Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Willing to travel, work outstation, and attend project sites when required

Possess a valid driving licence and own transportation

Annual and medical leave, subject to the employment contract
