Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to support the CEO in overseeing operations and administration for the investment advisory business. The role focuses on timely product delivery, cost controls, strategy execution, and leading the operations and administration teams to deliver results daily.

Based in Kuala Lumpur with occasional travel to Singapore, the successful candidate will bring 4–5 years of relevant experience, a strong university degree, and a proven ability to scale

Qualifications

• 4 to 5 years’ experience in managing operations and administration of a fast-paced organisation (investment, publishing, manufacturing, or IT).
• Strong university degree in any discipline.
• Ability to build organisation and staff capacity, manage and develop processes to run operations smoothly.
• High-energy, results-oriented with ability to handle multiple priorities and lead across levels.
• Based in Kuala Lumpur with occasional travel to Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CEO in managing operations and administration for the investment advisory business.
• Ensure timely production of products, management and cost controls, and execution of strategy.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer will assist him in managing the operations and administration that relate to the investment advisory business. Responsible for the timely production of product, management and cost controls, ensuring execution of strategy, you will manage the operations and administration teams and deliver results day in and day out, thus allowing the CEO to focus on matters related to investment research & analysis, business policy and strategy. This high impact position will appeal to a career-focused lady who aims to quickly move to top management, and wants to make meaningful contribution to the company’s long-term growth.

Requirements:

• Possess 4 to 5 years’ experience in managing the operations and administration of a fast-paced investment, publishing, manufacturing, or IT organisation and a strong university degree in any discipline. Candidates with experience as Investment or Business Analysts seeking a switch in career are also encouraged to apply.
• The ability to effectively build organisation and staff capacity, manage and develop a top-notch workforce and the processes that ensure the company’s operations run smoothly is vital.
• As a high-energy, results-oriented person, you enjoy working hard and are able to handle multiple priorities and people at many levels; able to act and react as necessary, even if limited information is available; not afraid to take charge of a situation; and can overcome resistance to leadership.
• You must be fluent in English. A strong knowledge of Mandarin is advantageous.
• While based in Kuala Lumpur, occasional travelling to Singapore will be required.
