Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, MICPA) preferred.
• Extensive senior-level experience in finance, FP&A, controllership, or corporate finance.
• Proven track record in CFO/Finance Director or equivalent leadership.
• Experience in manufacturing finance within large multinational organizations.
• Experience in joint ventures or shareholder-driven environments is advantageous.

Job description

1. Financial Strategy & Business Leadership

Develop and execute the Company's overall financial strategy in alignment with business objectives and long-term growth plans.

Act as a strategic business partner to the Managing Director and senior leadership team, providing financial insights and recommendations to support key business decisions.

Evaluate business performance, profitability, investment opportunities, and financial risks to support sustainable growth.

Provide strategic advice on major business initiatives, expansion plans, capital investments, and commercial decisions.

Participate actively in the Company's strategic planning and corporate decision-making process.

2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Performance Management

Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business planning processes.

Establish financial targets and monitor performance against budgets, forecasts, and business plans.

Provide timely analysis of revenue, margins, costs, profitability, working capital, and cash flow.

Identify key business drivers, financial risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Drive accountability across functions for financial performance and cost management.

3. Manufacturing & Cost Management

Provide financial leadership and oversight across manufacturing operations.

Drive initiatives to improve manufacturing cost competitiveness, productivity, efficiency, and profitability.

Partner with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to optimize material costs, production costs, inventory, and operating expenses.

Lead financial evaluation of manufacturing investments, capacity expansion, automation, and equipment projects.

Strengthen cost-control mechanisms while balancing operational efficiency and product quality.

4. Commercial & Business Performance

Partner with Commercial, Sales, Marketing, and Business Development teams to evaluate pricing, product profitability, promotions, and market opportunities.

Provide financial analysis to support product launches, pricing strategies, and business development initiatives.

Monitor product and channel profitability and recommend actions to improve overall margins.

Assess the financial impact of market trends, foreign exchange movements, commodity prices, and other external factors.

5. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

Oversee the Company's cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management.

Drive initiatives to optimize inventory, receivables, payables, and overall working capital.

Ensure effective cash flow forecasting and financial resource allocation.

Monitor funding requirements and ensure appropriate financial resources are available to support business operations and investments.

6. Financial Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, and compliance across the organization.

Oversee financial reporting and ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely submission of financial information.

Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate governance policies.

Identify and manage financial, operational, and business risks.

Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure effective audit processes and timely resolution of findings.

Maintain strong internal control frameworks and financial policies.

7. Joint Venture & Stakeholder Management

Manage financial relationships and reporting requirements with key shareholders, partners, and Yamaha stakeholders.

Provide financial insights and reports to the Board and relevant governance committees.

Support discussions and negotiations relating to business plans, investments, commercial arrangements, and strategic initiatives.

Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, bankers, tax advisors, regulators, and business partners.

8. Digital & Finance Transformation

Lead initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance function through digitalization, automation, data analytics, and process improvement.

Strengthen financial reporting and business intelligence capabilities to provide management with timely and actionable insights.

Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, controls, and reporting standards.

Support wider organizational transformation initiatives through financial analysis and business case development.

Lead and develop the Finance organization, building a high-performing and commercially focused team.

Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and development plans for the Finance team.

Strengthen financial capabilities across the organization through business partnering and financial awareness.

Develop succession plans and build a strong pipeline of finance talent.

Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, MICPA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.

Significant senior‑level experience in Finance, FP&A, Controllership, Commercial Finance, or Corporate Finance.

Proven experience in a CFO, Finance Director, Financial Controller, or equivalent senior finance leadership position.

Strong experience in manufacturing, preferably within a large‑scale or multinational organization.

Experience in managing finance within a joint venture, multinational, or shareholder‑driven environment would be highly advantageous.

Strong track record in financial strategy, business partnering, cost management, and organizational transformation.

Experience working directly with Board members, shareholders, senior management, and external stakeholders.
