Advanced Prestige Sdn Bhd (Sutera Harbour Resort) in Sabah seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the resort's engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring safe, reliable facilities and guest comfort. You will oversee budgets, CAPEX projects, and maintenance plans; drive energy management and sustainability; supervise a team and coordinate contractors, vendors, and major renovation efforts.

This hands-on leadership role requires a proactive, safety-focused mindset and the ability to deliver 24/7

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related Engineering discipline.

Join our team and lead the engineering and maintenance operations of one of Sabah's premier hospitality destinations.

As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall management of the resort's engineering and maintenance functions, ensuring efficient operation, safety, and upkeep of all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. This leadership role is critical in maintaining exceptional guest experiences while protecting and enhancing the resort's assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance operations
• Develop and control departmental budgets, CAPEX projects, and maintenance plans
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety standards, and fire codes
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical and electrical systems
• Drive energy management and sustainability initiatives
• Manage contractors, vendors, and major renovation projects
• Develop and mentor a high-performing engineering team
• Support operational excellence and guest satisfaction through effective facility management

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related Engineering discipline
• Minimum 8–10 years of engineering experience with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within a hotel, resort, or large hospitality complex
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems, building automation, energy management, and budget control
• Familiarity with Malaysian statutory requirements (DOSH, BOMBA)
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced 24/7 hospitality environment
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Preferably Malaysian candidates
