Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced General Manager to establish and lead a new Air Freight & International Logistics division in Malaysia. You will own the setup, recruit the team, build airline and GSA relationships, and develop profitable trade lanes and key corporate customers.

This senior role requires 10–15+ years in air‑freight with strong KUL airline/GSA connections, a proven business‑development record, and the ability to scale operations while maintaining margins and cash flow.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of air-freight/freight-forwarding experience with senior leadership exposure.
• Strong KUL airline/GSA connections and existing shipper network.
• Proven business development track record and scaling air-freight operations.

Responsibilities

• Personally negotiate air-freight rates, space allocations and terms with airlines and GSAs.
• Identify and secure large-volume shippers and corporate customers.
• Lead sales and business development, set targets and ensure achievement.
• Expand international agent and forwarding network and reciprocal cargo.
• Oversee daily air-freight operations, documentation, customs clearance and trucking.
• Review profitability and margins for major accounts and trade lanes.
• Recruit and develop a high-performing commercial and operational team.
• Establish SOPs, KPIs and internal controls across sales, operations and customer service.
