Job summary

SGS Malaysia is seeking a Laboratory Operations support role to assist the Laboratory Technical & Compliance Manager in daily operations and ISO/IEC 17025 compliance. The role includes method development, query responses, and SOP updates.

You will collaborate with the Operations team to investigate issues, train staff, and drive lab process improvements while maintaining HSE practices and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or science-related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum CGPA 3.5 or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates with the right attitude are welcome as training will be provided.
• Good personality, independent and a team player.
• Chinese language proficiency is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist Laboratory Technical & Compliance Manager in day-to-day lab operations to support ISO/IEC 17025 and SGS requirements.
• Assist in new method development as per business needs.
• Respond to queries from customers, business units and support teams within agreed timeframes.
• Collaborate with Operations to investigate and communicate investigation outcomes promptly.
• Review and update Working Instructions and SOPs when needed.
• Work towards enhanced lab processes and efficiency.
• Support root-cause investigations of non-conformities and customer complaints with corrective actions.
• Provide technical training to laboratory personnel and conduct refreshment training as needed.
• Uphold Good Laboratory Practice and HSE policies at all times.
