Job summary

SGS is seeking a Laboratory Technician based in Seksyen 22, Shah Alam, Malaysia. The role involves performing basic laboratory tests, supporting chemists and microbiologists, ensuring GLP and HSE compliance, and maintaining equipment.

Ideal candidates have SPM/STPM or a college diploma, 1–3 years lab experience, strong communication skills, and computer literacy. Good teamwork and the ability to document data accurately are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum education SPM or STPM or College Diploma.
• 1-3 years’ laboratory experience in related activities is preferred.
• Good personality and a good team leader.
• Good communication and written skills in English and/or local language.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic laboratory tests as per approved methods and procedures.
• Assist Chemist/ Microbiologist with testing, method development and QA/QC compliance.
• Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) in the lab.
• Maintain sample preparation equipment and ensure proper use and maintenance.
• Adhere to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations locally.
• Record raw data accurately in logs and data sheets.
• Report hazards, near-misses and incidents in Crystal system.
• Meet Operational Integrity Management System (OIMS) requirements.
