Job summary

Eurofins Mechem in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Chemist to join a highly competent technical team. You will assist in managing manpower, resources and facilities to ensure safe operation, accurate results and on-time delivery of test reports.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemistry, 2–3 years of relevant lab experience, analytical skills, strong English, and the ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of ICP-OES/ICP-MS/GC-MS/GC-FID/IC/HPLC is an advantage; colour vision is required and

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemistry related.
• Min of 2-3 years working experience in relevant field for Chemist position.
• Analytical, good command in English and have great passion in Laboratory work.
• Resourceful, able to work under stress and to lead troubleshooting processes in the laboratory environment.
• Self-motivated and result oriented, able to plan and execute task in timely basis.
• Good communication skills and able to work with all employees at different levels in the organization hierarchy.
• Experience in handling laboratory instruments such as ICP-OES/ICP-MS/GC-MS/GC-FID/IC/HPLC would be of added advantage.
• Experience in implementation and maintenance of MS ISO/IEC 17025.
• Colour blind candidate may not need to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing manpower, resources and facilities to ensure safe operation, results accuracy and on-time delivery of test reports.
• Implement and ensure technical compliance with MS ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Continuously improve operation capacity and manpower technical competency.
• Improve operation processes in line with LEAN principles.
• Be a member of a technical team to support business development and growth and subcontracting service providers.
• Provide technical advice and justifications to clients and internal teams on new enquiries and existing scope of services.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned by management.
