Job summary

Synthomer Malaysia is seeking a proactive R&D scientist to join the HPPM, H&P new product innovation team. You will participate in developing new projects through experiments, collect data, and evaluate technical feasibility of prototypes to meet project objectives.

You will help create tailored test methods, analyze complex datasets, and document findings for timely reporting. A strong emphasis on safety and compliant practices is expected.

Purpose of the Job

Part of HPPM, H&P new product innovation team for new product/process improvement based on customer/market needs.

• Involve in the development of new R&D projects by experimentations and investigations through scientific methods to collect dataset to evaluate the technical feasibility of potential solutions/prototypes to address the objective of the R&D project.
• Engage in development of new test methods/tools that are tailored for specific measurements to enhance the efficiency of data collection and analysis.
• Contribute to safe working environment by identify and review safety measures in work as a continuous effort in workplace safety.

Main Accountabilities

1. 1.Identify, report on and improve safety related issues in intermediate working environment using available tools and systems.
2. 2.Support innovation project development and plant-scale up initiated by supervisor.
3. 3.Plan, engage in, and conduct tests and experiments in structural approaches to ensure delivery of project on time.
4. 4.Observe, analyse, and interpret complex analytical datasets.
5. 5.Document findings in technical report and communicate results to supervisor.
6. 6.Support development of new test method to strengthen innovation competitiveness.
7. 7.Support review of related patent monitoring in Intellectual Property practices.
8. 8.Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and standards.
