Job summary

Renaissance Hotels in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a non-management Chief Steward to oversee the heart of the house operations across kitchens, restaurants, room service, banquets and lounges. You will supervise staff, ensure sanitation, FIFO, inventories, and coach team members to achieve the company standards.

You will work closely with the Chief Steward, participate in hiring, training, and scheduling, and ensure safety and quality across all service areas. This role is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma.
• Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: Food Safety certification course.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Chief Steward to manage the day-to-day heart of the house operations for kitchens, restaurants, room service, banqueting and lounges.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, accurate inventories, and adherence to company policies.
