SIRIM Berhad is seeking a Certification Executive on a short-term contract to lead electrical/electronics certification and inspection activities in Malaysia. You will conduct audits, process applications, and coordinate with international partners to ensure compliance with certification schemes.
The role requires a minimum degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, at least 2 years in manufacturing, and strong English and Bahasa Malaysia communication abilities.

POSITION: CERTIFICATION EXECUTIVE (SHORT-TERM CONTRACT)
VACANCY : 7 POSITIONS
DURATION : 1 YEAR
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS CERTIFICATION & INSPECTION SECTION 1 (ECIS 1)
Conduct initial, verification, and other certification audits in accordance with established procedures, accreditation requirements, and Product Certification Scheme requirements.
Perform factory inspections, including joint inspections with international certification partners (e.g., VDE, KEMA, SEMKO, FIMKO, LCIE, IMQ, SEV, DEMKO, KTL, JET, JQA) in accordance with the respective certification body requirements.
Process new certification applications and carry out Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) and other third-party inspection activities.
Conduct inspections and audits under various certification schemes requiring technical expertise and professional judgement.
Plan and execute audit and inspection activities in compliance with accreditation requirements, certification scheme requirements, and international best practices.
Ensure all audit and inspection activities are performed professionally, efficiently, and in accordance with the Auditor's Code of Ethics while maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness.
Manage all post-audit activities, including:
Closing Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs);
Preparing cost sheets and audit-related documentation;
Monitoring licence status and outstanding quotations;
Maintaining customer records and documentation within the designated system.
Develop, maintain, and improve work instructions, technical guidelines, and supporting documentation to facilitate certification scheme implementation.
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, market surveillance activities, and other operational assignments as directed by Management.
Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately and within the stipulated timelines.
ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS CERTIFICATION & INSPECTION SECTION 2 (ECIS 2)
Conduct surveillance audits, verification audits, and other product certification audits in accordance with accreditation requirements, certification schemes, and established procedures.
Evaluate audit findings and recommend licence renewal or continuation based on compliance with Product Certification Scheme requirements.
Obtain and maintain competency qualifications as an IECEx Competence of Personnel Certification (CoPC) Examiner and IECEx 03 – Certified Service Facilities (CSF) Auditor, in accordance with IECEx competency requirements.
Coordinate and monitor the issuance and control of certification labels to ensure timely delivery and compliance with customer requirements.
Plan, execute, and manage audit and inspection activities in compliance with accreditation standards, certification schemes, and the Auditor's Code of Ethics.
Ensure audit and inspection activities are conducted efficiently, professionally, and cost-effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and integrity.
Manage post-audit activities, including the closure of Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs), preparation of cost sheets, monitoring licence status, follow-up on outstanding quotations, and maintenance of customer records and documentation within the designated system.
Develop, review, and maintain technical guidelines, work instructions, and supporting documentation to facilitate the effective implementation of certification schemes.
Respond to customer feedback, public complaints, market surveillance activities, and other assignments as directed by Management within the stipulated timeframe.
Work closely with internal stakeholders and external certification bodies to ensure effective implementation and continual improvement of Product Certification and IECEx Certification Schemes.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 2 years of working experience in the manufacturing industry.
Able to work independently and in a team.
Self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills.
Able to display professionalism and work under pressure.
Possess own transportation with valid driving license.
Good oral and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
