Job summary

Chevron Malaysia Limited (CML) is seeking a Category Specialist to lead procurement category management in Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur. You will guide purchasing across direct and indirect spend, collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to maximize value and ensure P2P compliance.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong negotiation, and proven delivery of initiatives with autonomy. Expatriate assignments are not considered; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, or related field.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience.
• Experience in category management, including planning, contract management, supplier management, and strong negotiation skills.
• Experience in developing and applying Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), should-cost modeling, and other category management techniques in strategic sourcing.
• Knowledge of commercial and financial analysis related to procurement activities.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• A good team player with a strong drive for performance and results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• E-Procurement knowledge - SAP capability is an advantage.

Chevron Malaysia Limited (CML) is accepting online applications for the position of Category Specialist - Malaysia located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia through November 4, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Malaysia Time).

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Managing the full spectrum of the Procurement processes and activities, providing category management leadership, functional guidance, and coordination across all aspects of procurement for the International Fuel & Lubricants business in Malaysia. The scope of the Procurement categories includes both direct and indirect Procurement, covering Caltex retail stations equipment, signages, site maintenance & repair, payment solutions, systems and technologies, marketing agencies, retail sites, tank & terminals maintenance, engineering works, capital projects, logistics & freight forwarding, professional services, packaging, and other general services

• Collaborating closely and building positive relationships with management, business stakeholders, regional/local Procurement team, and external vendors to deliver commercial value in support of Chevron’s business objectives and ensuring full compliance with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and procedures. The role also provides opportunities for cross-country support and greatercommercial leverage.

• The ideal candidate thinks strategically and collaboratively, while also working with significant autonomy; a strong individual who can drive category strategies and has a proven track record of managing multiple initiatives and driving them to completion to meet business objectives; communicates effectively and has the ability to influence business stakeholders and suppliers at all levels, and demonstrate a high level of customer focus and business judgment.

Job Qualifications:
