Job summary

Chevron Malaysia Limited (CML) is seeking a Category Specialist to lead procurement category management in Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur. You will guide purchasing across direct and indirect spend, collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to maximize value and ensure P2P compliance.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong negotiation, and proven delivery of initiatives with autonomy. Expatriate assignments are not considered; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, or related field.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience.
• Experience in category management, including planning, contract management, supplier management, and strong negotiation skills.
• Experience in developing and applying Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), should-cost modeling, and other category management techniques in strategic sourcing.
• Knowledge of commercial and financial analysis related to procurement activities.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• A good team player with a strong drive for performance and results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• E-Procurement knowledge - SAP capability is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Managing the full spectrum of the Procurement processes and activities, providing category management leadership and coordination across all procurement aspects for the Malaysia market.
• Collaborating with management, stakeholders, regional/local procurement teams, and vendors to deliver commercial value and ensure P2P compliance.
• Drive category strategies and lead multiple initiatives to meet business objectives with autonomy and strong stakeholder influence.
