Job summary

CHINT Global Malaysia is seeking a procurement professional to drive category management and strategic sourcing across electrical equipment and EPC-related categories. You will analyze markets, develop and update category strategies, and lead supplier sourcing and negotiations with a strong focus on data-driven decisions.

The role requires at least 3 years of relevant experience, proficiency in English (Chinese a plus), and familiarity with SRM/OA systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in related fields.
  • Procurement management certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant functional or professional experience; electrical equipment or EPC field preferred.
  • English language proficiency; Chinese language knowledge is an advantage.
  • MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) with data analysis skills; Power BI/SQL/Tableau experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of category management tools and market intelligence gathered ability.
  • SRM and OA systems experience preferred.

  • Category management: Release and update category portfolio and ensure ongoing maintenance.
  • Develop procurement strategies based on demand and market analysis; publish analyses and maintain strategies.
  • Conduct supplier sourcing; benchmark to identify high-quality suppliers.
  • Establish centralized and decentralized sourcing mechanisms by commodity and supplier data.
  • Conduct supplier capability assessments and manage supplier lifecycle.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and sign supplier agreements; manage relationships.
  • Support knowledge management and share insights; perform ad-hoc tasks as directed by leadership.

Job description

Regularly analyze procurement data to develop a tiered management mechanism for materials based on their attributes and data insights. Establish centralized and decentralized sourcing approaches, and build an efficient, collaborative, transparent, and strategic category management and sourcing platform.

Responsibilities:
1.Category Management
  • Category Portfolio Release & Update: Release the company's category portfolio and perform regular maintenance and updates.
  • Develop Category Procurement Strategies: Conduct supply market analysis based on demand, regularly publish analysis reports, and develop, update, and maintain procurement strategies for corresponding categories.
2.Strategic Sourcing
  • Supplier Sourcing: Conduct industry benchmarking to identify and develop high-quality suppliers.
  • Establish Strategic Sourcing Mechanisms: Leverage category management to establish and implement centralized and decentralized sourcing mechanisms based on commodity and characteristic supplier classification data.
3.Audit & Evaluation
  • Supplier Capability Assessment: Conduct preliminary capability assessments (TQDRCE) for potential suppliers. Experience in supplier life cycle management.
4.Contract Signing
  • Supplier Agreement Signing: Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, sign cooperation agreements, and manage supplier relationships. In depth knowledge in commercial and contractual terms and conditions.
5.Other Tasks
  • Participate in departmental knowledge management (e.g., provide recommendations on category management), experience distillation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Complete ad-hoc work tasks assigned by the supervising leader.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • Major & Certification: Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Financial Management, Marketing, Finance, or related fields; Procurement Management certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant functional or professional experience, Electrical equipment or EPC related field preferred.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in written and spoken English. Well verse in Chinese will be added advantage.
  • Computer Skills: Skilled in MS Office (PPT, Word, Excel). Data analysis skills and experience in relevant software (Power BI, SQL, Tableau) will be added advantage.
  • Related Skills: Basic product knowledge, understanding of category management tools, strong negotiation skills, and market intelligence gathering ability.
  • System Proficiency: Experience with SRM and OA systems preferred.
  • Regional experience preferred; Able to travel in short notice.
