Job summary

JAC Recruitment International seeks a Test & Calibration Engineer in Penang to perform setup, debugging, calibration, and validation of testing and automation equipment across project requirements. The role involves troubleshooting with Product Engineering teams and maintaining thorough records of results and configurations.

You should have 2+ years in automation equipment or testing systems and a background in electronics or related fields.

Qualifications

SKM, Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline.
Minimum 2 years of experience in automation equipment, testing systems, industrial machinery, or related engineering environments.
Experience in optical communication testing or equipment debugging is an added advantage.
Familiarity with automation equipment, mechanical transmission systems, and electrical control systems.
Basic understanding of PLC principles and automation controls.
Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes and other electronic test instruments.
Ability to read and understand technical documents and electrical drawings.
Hands-on troubleshooting and debugging skills.
Ability to read technical documentation in English.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly responsible.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable working under pressure and when required to support urgent project timelines.
Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

Perform setup, debugging, calibration, and validation of testing and automation equipment according to project requirements and schedules.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with Product Engineering teams.
Maintain accurate records of testing activities, validation results, and equipment configurations.
Conduct routine maintenance and ensure the reliability and optimal performance of testing equipment.
Support equipment acceptance, inspection, and validation activities for supplier-built systems.
Work closely with suppliers to address technical, quality, and performance-related issues and drive continuous improvement.
Utilize test instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and validation activities.
Ensure all testing and validation processes are properly documented and comply with established standards.
Support engineering projects and other duties assigned by management.
