Job Summary
We are looking for a Business Intelligence & Systems Analyst (BISA) who can bridge the gap between systems, data, and business intelligence.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Product, Project, Development, Infrastructure, and Data teams to understand business needs, analyze system and data flows, investigate issues, and provide meaningful insights to support business and management decision-making.
The ideal candidate should be analytical, technically capable, business-oriented, and comfortable working with databases, systems, APIs, and large datasets.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Analysis
- Analyze existing applications, databases, APIs, integrations, and system workflows.
- Understand and document end-to-end system and data flows across different applications and platforms.
- Analyze system behaviour and identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Perform system impact analysis for new features, enhancements, and Change Requests (CR).
- Work closely with developers, architects, DBAs, infrastructure, and other technical teams to identify appropriate solutions.
- Assist in analyzing API integrations, data mappings, system interfaces, and dependencies.
- Investigate system issues and work with relevant technical teams to identify root causes.
- Maintain system flows, integration documentation, data flow diagrams, and other relevant technical documentation.
2. Business Intelligence & Data Analysis
- Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, risks, and opportunities.
- Write and execute SQL queries for data extraction, investigation, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Translate business and management questions into measurable KPIs and analytical requirements.
- Provide meaningful insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis based on management and business requirements.
- Analyze customer/player behaviour, transaction patterns, conversion, retention, churn, and other relevant business metrics.
- Identify unusual patterns or significant changes in business performance and investigate the underlying causes.
- Work with relevant teams to develop and improve business reports and dashboards.
3. Data Warehouse & Data Quality
- Participate in Data Warehouse initiatives, including data mapping, KPI definition, data modelling requirements, and validation.
- Understand data lineage from source systems through databases, ETL/ELT processes, Data Warehouse, and reporting platforms.
- Work with Data Engineers and DBAs to define data requirements and transformation rules.
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across different systems.
- Perform data reconciliation between source systems, databases, Data Warehouse, dashboards, and reports.
- Investigate data discrepancies and identify where issues may have occurred within the data flow.
- Coordinate with relevant system owners and technical teams to resolve data quality issues.
- Maintain documentation for data definitions, business rules, KPIs, data mappings, and data lineage.
- Work with stakeholders to understand reporting and dashboard requirements.
- Support the development and maintenance of management and operational dashboards.
- Define and validate KPIs and reporting metrics.
- Ensure reporting metrics and KPIs are consistently defined across different systems and departments.
- Validate dashboard and report data against source systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and reduce manual reporting.
- Continuously improve dashboards and reports based on business and management needs.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a bridge between business, management, Data, Product, Project, and technical teams on system and data-related matters.
- Work with stakeholders to understand their reporting, analytics, and data needs.
- Communicate technical and data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactively follow up on system and data-related issues.
- Coordinate with relevant owners when issues involve multiple systems or teams.
- Escalate risks, blockers, data discrepancies, and system gaps when necessary.
- Present analytical findings, observations, and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in System Analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, or related roles.
- Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of system workflows, databases, APIs, and system integrations.
- Good SQL skills with the ability to independently query, investigate, and analyze data.
- Good understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or equivalent.
- Understanding of Data Warehouse, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data marts, and data modelling concepts.
