Job summary

AGENSI PEKERJAAN LINKTRIX CONSULTANTS SDN. BHD. is seeking a Data/BI Engineer in Malaysia to join the BI team.

You will focus on backend development across Oracle Fusion Cloud, handling ODI ETL, OBIEE/RPD, and scripting to ensure reliable data pipelines for Finance, HCM, SCM and OTM teams. You will develop and optimize ODI ETL processes, support OBIEE solutions, and work with Linux terminals, XML troubleshooting, and SQL tuning to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4–5 years of BI development/support experience, ideally within an Oracle Fusion Cloud environment, spanning ETL development, semantic-layer/OBIEE work, and reporting.
• Experience as a Data Engineer or BI Developer with data warehousing expertise, ideally on a global scale.
• Strong knowledge of ODI, OBIEE/RPD, SQL, and familiarity with Linux.
• Excellent SQL and ETL development skills, including query writing, tuning, and troubleshooting performance issues.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering permanent fixes rather than temporary workarounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance ODI ETL processes to support reporting and integration needs.
• Support and improve OBIEE solutions, including RPD development, issue resolution, and deployments.
• Work with Linux terminal operations, Vim editing, and XML file troubleshooting in ODI environments.
• Apply Data Warehouse architecture principles, including Star modelling and ETL design, to support scalable BI solutions.
• Optimize and resolve issues related to SQL queries and reporting performance.
• Investigate recurring issues and deliver permanent fixes to prevent rework, rather than temporary workarounds.
• Monitor scheduled ETL/report jobs and data refreshes, proactively identifying and resolving failures or data delays.
• Collaborate with business users, functional consultants, and external partners to gather requirements and validate data quality.
• Document technical specifications, data mappings, and support procedures to build a sustainable knowledge base for the team.
• Gain exposure to Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), including subject areas, dashboards, and pipelines.

Job description

We are seeking a solution-oriented Data/BI Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team, reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager. The role's primary focus is backend development and support across our Oracle Fusion Cloud landscape — particularly ODI ETL development, OBIEE/RPD, and scripting — ensuring stable, reliable data pipelines. This role is critical to ensuring that Finance, HCM, SCM and OTM business teams receive accurate, timely, and reliable data.

About you

Ability to troubleshoot complex BI and integration issues

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work with both technical and business audiences

Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) and BI Publisher (BIP) report/template development

Familiarity with OTBI or similar Fusion reporting tools
