Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe operation and performance of boiler systems.

• Monitor and maintain deaerator, air compressor, boiler and D.I. systems after power events.
• Report equipment failures to Management promptly.
• Support safety, GMP compliance and 5S workplace practice.
• Participate in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HACCP and GMP systems.

About The Role

Location: Shah Alam, Malaysia

Reporting to: Utility Engineer

The Boilerman will support the goals and programs established by the management team to continually improve the plant maintenance as well as plant improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe operation and performance of boiler systems.
• Conduct periodic checks on process water levels, ensuring storage tanks, pumps, and related equipment function properly.
• Ensure the D.I. plant operates efficiently and meets required water specifications.
• Monitor and maintain proper functioning of the deaerator system.
• Perform routine inspections on the air compressor system to ensure optimal performance.
• Restart the air compressor system immediately following any power failure.
• Restart the boiler and D.I. systems promptly after power restoration.
• Report any equipment failures or malfunctions to Management without delay.
• Follow Chemist instructions on boiler water treatment dosing and prepare required solutions.
• Perform boiler cleaning and repair work (internal and external) as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in boiler and compressor areas.
• Ensure the cooling tower system operates efficiently.
• Monitor fuel oil tank levels and ensure pumps are functioning properly.
• Act as a Safety Coordinator, supporting safety and GMP compliance.
• Promote and practice 5S workplace culture.
• Participate actively in plant safety and food safety initiatives.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HACCP, and GMP systems.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum Grade One Steam Certificate of Competency.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven experience in boiler maintenance and operations.
• Prior exposure to the process industry, with willingness to work on shift schedules.
• Strong technical, troubleshooting, and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, remain resourceful, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
