Job summary

Unknown company in Penang is seeking an experienced operator to ensure metal bending meets specifications and quality expectations. You will work with manual and CNC bending machines, read blueprints, and perform setup, inspection, and process improvements.

The role requires hands-on experience with bending/sheet metal operations, a relevant certificate, and at least 3 years of practical work in fabrication. 5S and safety are emphasized in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to form metal sheets per blueprints.
• Hands-on experience with bending, rolling and forming.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and CNC bending machines to form parts per specs.
• Set up dies, adjust pressure and prep machines for production.
• Inspect bent parts for accuracy and conformance to specs.
• Identify minor machine issues and report major ones.
• Maintain 5S in own work area and follow safety rules.
• Run self-quality checks and meet output/yield targets.
• Log production and quality data at shift start and end.
• Lock out equipment when not in use and ensure good product shipping.
• Participate in quality improvement projects.

Summary

Ensure product machining meets specification and customer’s quality expectation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using a variety of bending machines, including manual and CNC machines, to form metal sheets and components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Carrying out various metal fabrication tasks, including bending, rolling, and forming, as needed.
• Preparing the bending machine for production by setting up dies, adjusting pressure, and making other necessary adjustments
• Inspecting the finished bent parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet the required specifications.
• Identifying and resolving minor machine issues, and reporting more serious problems to maintenance personnel.
• Maintain 5S for own work cell area.
• Operate equipment and machine per work-instruction and safety requirement.
• Perform own self-quality check on product been produced.
• Meet personal output target and yield target.
• Perform equipment and machine health and setup check at start of shift. Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Ensure correct, good quality products are only allowed to leave manufacturing to be shipped to customer.
• Participate in quality improvement project.
