Job summary

Highstar Energy Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a capable process and operations manager to approve process documents, supervise workshops, and continuously improve production processes. The role will analyze efficiency, participate in inspections, and oversee equipment acceptance while standardising workshop practices.

The candidate will lead supplier evaluation for raw materials, manage information resources on battery production quality and technology, and drive talent development and staffing

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or higher; Chemical Engineering or Electrochemistry preferred.
• At least 5 years in the industry.
• Led the introduction of more than 5 new products or processes within the industry.

Responsibilities

• Approve process documents and related work instructions.
• Supervise production workshops and departments in implementing process documents and continually improve production processes.
• Participate in improving process capability at each production stage.
• Analyze and improve production efficiency across all processes.
• Participate in process discipline inspections.
• Participate in equipment acceptance, evaluating process capability and production efficiency.
• Analyze and handle major and urgent process abnormalities in workshops and related departments.
• Responsible for standardization work within the workshop.
• Evaluate supplier changes for raw and auxiliary materials related to finalized products.
• Promote shared management of information resources related to lithium battery production, quality, and technology.
• Review and dispose of slow-moving inventory (raw/auxiliary materials, components, packaging materials).
• Propose handling plans for returned lithium battery products, in-process defects, and B-grade products.
• Review departmental staffing structure and position allocation; review functions and job descriptions; oversee monthly performance evaluations; oversee improvement plans.
• Establish workshop 6S and safety management systems; organize inspections; ensure rectification of non-compliance and hazards.
• Lead workforce planning and staffing; promote employee awareness and culture; build talent pipeline; guide onboarding and evaluate skills; allocate staff based on workload; propose planning.
