Job summary

PAUL Bakery Malaysia is seeking a friendly Barista cum Retail Crew to prepare and serve beverages to PAUL Malaysia's quality standards, while supporting retail sales and daily outlet operations.

You will provide courteous customer service, maintain product presentation and outlet cleanliness, handle transactions accurately, replenish products and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and Halal requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as barista/retail crew or cashier is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and customer service.
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and/or English.
• Basic numeracy and ability to operate a POS system.
• Willing to obtain food-handling certification and typhoid vaccination.
• Customer-focused and service-oriented.
• Able to work quickly and accurately in a busy outlet.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong awareness of hygiene and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, chocolate, and other drinks per PAUL Malaysia recipes and standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders and other beverage equipment safely.
• Maintain beverage quality, temperature, taste and presentation.
• Assist customers in selecting breads, pastries, cakes, sandwiches and other items.
• Greet customers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
• Take orders accurately and confirm special requests.
• Operate the POS system and process payments correctly.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and halal requirements.
• Complete opening and closing duties according to outlet checklists.

Job description

The Barista cum Retail Crew is responsible for preparing and serving beverages according to PAUL Malaysia's quality standards while supporting retail sales and daily outlet operations. The position requires the employee to provide friendly and efficient customer service, maintain product presentation and cleanliness, process customer transactions accurately, replenish retail products and ensure compliance with the Company's food safety, hygiene and operational procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, chocolate, cold beverages and other drinks according to PAUL Malaysia's approved recipes, presentation standards and portion requirements.
• Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders and other beverage equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain consistency in beverage quality, temperature, taste and presentation.
• Assist customers in selecting breads, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, packaged products and other retail items.
• Greet and attend to every customer in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
• Take customer orders accurately and confirm any special requests before preparing or submitting the order.
• Operate the Point-of-Sale system accurately and follow all approved cashiering procedures.
• Process cash, card and approved cashless payments correctly.
• Comply with all food safety, hygiene, sanitation and Halal requirements established by PAUL Malaysia and the relevant authorities.
• Complete all assigned opening and closing duties according to the outlet checklist.

About you

• Minimum SPM or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Previous experience as a barista, retail crew, service crew or cashier in the food and beverage industry is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation, beverage equipment and customer service is preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and/or English.
• Basic numeracy skills and the ability to operate a POS system are required.
• Must be willing to obtain or maintain the required food-handling certification and typhoid vaccination.
