Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a dedicated Bahasa Melayu & Religious Studies Teacher to join our International School, teaching at both Primary and Secondary levels. The role focuses on delivering engaging Bahasa Melayu and Religious Studies lessons, while supporting student development and values.

The successful candidate will plan lessons, assess progress, and maintain a positive classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues and parents as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Education or related field.
• Relevant teaching qualification would be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years teaching experience in a school environment.
• Experience teaching Bahasa Melayu and Religious Studies at Primary/Secondary levels preferred.
• Good command of Bahasa Melayu and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a school team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Bahasa Melayu and Religious Studies for Primary and Secondary students.
• Deliver lessons in accordance with the school curriculum and relevant educational requirements.
• Develop students’ proficiency in Bahasa Melayu across reading, writing, speaking, and grammar.
• Deliver Religious Studies lessons in an engaging and age‑appropriate manner.

• Maintain a positive, respectful and well‑managed classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, school leaders and other departments, and communicate with parents as needed.

Bahasa Melayu & Islamic Studies Teacher – Primary & Secondary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Bahasa Melayu & Religious Studies Teacher (Agama) to join our International School, teaching students at Primary and Secondary levels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in Bahasa Melayu and Religious Studies, while supporting students’ academic development, character building and understanding of positive values.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Bahasa Melayu and Religious Studies for Primary and Secondary students.

Deliver lessons in accordance with the school curriculum and relevant educational requirements.

Develop students’ proficiency in Bahasa Melayu, including reading, writing, speaking, comprehension and grammar.

Deliver Religious Studies lessons in an engaging and age-appropriate manner, covering relevant knowledge, values and practices in accordance with the school curriculum.

Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments and learning activities.

Assess, monitor and report on students’ progress and provide appropriate feedback and support.

Maintain a positive, respectful and well-managed classroom environment.

Adapt teaching approaches to accommodate students with different learning abilities and language proficiency levels.

Work collaboratively with teachers, school leaders and other departments.

Communicate professionally with parents regarding students’ progress when required.

Participate in school events, meetings, co-curricular activities and other school programmes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Education, Bahasa Melayu, Religious Studies or a related field.

Preferably at least 2 years of teaching experience in a school environment.

Experience teaching Bahasa Melayu and Religious Studies at Primary and/or Secondary levels is preferred.
