Job summary

Penerbitan Pelangi Sdn Bhd in Bangi, Malaysia, is seeking a Bahasa Melayu Editor for a full-time, on-site role. You will edit manuscripts from draft to CRC, coordinate with writers, set submission deadlines, and evaluate sample chapters to ensure timely, high-quality publications.

The ideal candidate has a relevant degree and 1–3 years editorial experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and fluency in Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

Degree/Diploma in Linguistic/Bahasa Melayu/Arts in Education or equivalent.
1–3 years editorial experience in publishing or similar.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint and other publishing software.
Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

Edit and proofread manuscripts thoroughly from manuscript stage to CRC.
Coordinate with writers and set deadlines for submissions.
Evaluate writer sample chapters and monitor progress according to schedule.
Review headings, icons design lists, and approve cover and layout elements.
Coordinate with production on illustrations, typesetting, layout, and corrections.
Review book proofs and ensure final content is updated, vetted, and corrected.
Draft correspondence to writers and liaise with marketing for feedback on titles.
