Job summary

Finexus Group in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Software Engineer II Backend to design, build, test, and support backend services, APIs, and integrations across the Kayaaku platform. You will take ownership from requirement to production, delivering secure, scalable Java systems with strong fundamentals in a regulated payments context.

You will work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, learning quickly, delivering independently, and seeking guidance when needed to ensure reliable deployments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional software engineering experience in backend systems.
• Strong Java fundamentals and production-grade software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, and features.
• Take modules from requirement to production, meeting timelines and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
• Review code, respond to feedback, and maintain consistent engineering practices.
• Support production systems, including on-call troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Product, Project, and Operations to clarify requirements and build technical solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for assigned systems and features.
• Identify and escalate technical or delivery risks when required.
