Job summary

Key Plus in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Backend Developer to own infrastructure as we scale. You will build and maintain APIs for case tracking, follow-up logs, and payments, and integrate with partner systems and gateways.

Responsibilities include database schema design for leads/conversions and close collaboration with frontend and ops teams to fill data gaps. On-site role in KL with a lean team environment.

Qualifications

Key Plus is building out case tracking, payment processing, and partner system integrations.

We need a Backend Developer to own that infrastructure as we scale.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain APIs for case tracking, follow-up logs, and payment capture
• Integrate with partner systems and payment gateways
• Own database schema design for the lead and conversion pipeline
• Work closely with the frontend developer and opera ons team to close data gaps

Technical Requirements

• PHP 8.3 or above, with Laravel (REST API) as the main framework
• Node.js 20 or above (used for scripts/queues outside the core Laravel app)
• MySQL 8 and Redis
• Familiarity with Laravel Passport / Sanctum for authentication
• Exposure to Laravel Horizon, Octane, and Reverb is a strong plus
• Has integrated at least one payment gateway or third-party API in a live production system

(core requirement)

• Understands reliability pa erns for external integra ons (retries, failure handling)

General Requirements:

• Willing to work on-site from our office — this is not a remote or hybrid role
• Must have own transportation to and from the office (the location is not well served by

public transport)

• Standard office hours, Monday to Friday; punctual and reliable a endance
• Able to take ownership of tasks and follow through without close supervision
• Comfortable working in a small, lean team where responsibilities can shift as priorities

change

Nice to Have:

• Experience with insurance, fintech, or high-volume lead-generation platforms
• Familiarity with tracking / attribution at the data layer
