Job summary

Tropika is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build and maintain robust backend systems and APIs. You will manage databases, ensure performance and data integrity, and integrate APIs with web and mobile platforms.

Ideal candidates have a degree in CS/IT, backend experience, and familiarity with PHP/Laravel, Node.js, Python or Java. Collaboration with frontend and mobile teams is essential, along with good problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience in Backend Development is preferred.
• Knowledge of APIs, databases, server-side programming and system integration.
• Familiarity with PHP, Laravel, Node.js, Python, Java or similar.
• Understanding of Git/version control and basic deployment processes.

This is a Backend Development role focused on developing, maintaining and improving backend systems, applications and APIs. About you

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field

Experience in Backend Development is preferred

Good understanding of APIs, databases, server-side programming and system integration

Familiarity with backend programming languages/frameworks such as PHP, Laravel, Node.js, Python, Java, or similar

Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL or other relational databases is an advantage

Understanding of Git/version control and basic deployment processes

Good problem-solving and analytical skills

Able to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
