Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Back-End) to design, develop, and maintain robust backend solutions using C# on Windows-based and web platforms. You will translate business requirements into scalable designs and work with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience with C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC and Web API, plus strong SQL and Git skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years hands-on experience developing Windows desktop and/or web apps using C# and the .NET platform.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core with Visual Studio tools.
• Solid experience with ASP.NET technologies including MVC, Web API, and Entity Framework.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend solutions using C# and .NET Core.

• Enhance and optimize enterprise systems including POS, ERP, and warehouse platforms.
• Design APIs and backend services to support internal and external operations.

Job Descriptions

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend solutions for Windows-based and web applications using C# and the .NET / .NET Core platform.
• Translate business, operational, and technical requirements into well-structured system designs and scalable backend implementations.
• Enhance, support, and optimize existing enterprise systems including POS, ERP, and warehouse management platforms.
• Design and implement APIs, backend services, and system integrations to support internal and external business operations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure high code quality through adherence to best practices, refactoring, automated testing, and peer code reviews.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering system architecture, design decisions, and functional enhancements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (frontend, QA, operations, and product) to ensure smooth deployments and system stability.
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and decision-making to improve system scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Recommend and drive improvements in development workflows, tools, coding standards, and system architecture.
• Proactively anticipate system capacity, performance, and support requirements to ensure operational continuity.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance where necessary.
• Perform other technical or project-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or higher qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing Windows desktop and/or web applications using C# and the .NET platform.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core, with extensive experience using Visual Studio and related development tools.
• Solid hands-on experience with ASP.NET technologies including MVC, Web API, and Entity Framework.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, software design patterns, and application lifecycle management.
• Experience working with Agile or SDLC-based development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases and SQL, with the ability to write optimized queries and manage database performance.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently while taking ownership of deliverables.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience in mentoring or leading technical initiatives is an added advantage.
