The candidate will design and operate secure landing zones, build scalable pipelines, and manage cloud networking, security, and cost optimization in a hybrid setup (2x onsite per week, with probationary on-site

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience across Azure Infra and data engineering.
• Strong expertise in ADF, SQL, ADLS, Synapse/Fabric and IaC with Terraform/Bicep.
• Experience with cloud networking, security baselines, and data architectures (Lakehouse/Data Mesh).
• Bonus: AKS, Purview, Databricks, PySpark, or AI/ML workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate Azure Landing Zones aligned with governance.
• Build scalable IaC with Terraform or Bicep.

We are currently partnering with a top-tier Global Financial Data & Market Intelligence Enterprise to expand their high-performing technology hub in Penang, Malaysia!

Position Summary

• Role: Azure Infrastructure & Data Engineer
• Location: Penang, Malaysia (George Town)
• Experience: 3+ Years of hands-on experience
• Work Setup: Hybrid (2x/week onsite) - 4x per week onsite during probationary
• Work Eligibility: Malaysian Citizens, MyPR Holders, or RP-T Holders (No visa sponsorship available)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate secure Azure Landing Zones aligned with enterprise governance & Zero Trust standards.
• Build scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Bicep.
• Architect end-to-end data pipelines and data solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF), ADLS, Azure Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Manage cloud networking (VNETs, Private Endpoints), security/identity (Entra ID, RBAC, PIM), and cost optimization.
• Drive production SRE practices, monitoring, and performance tuning for critical data platforms.

Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of core hands-on experience across Azure Infrastructure and Data platform engineering.
• Strong expertise in ADF, SQL, ADLS, Synapse/Fabric, and Terraform/Bicep.
• Experience with cloud networking, security baselines, and data architecture models (Lakehouse/Data Mesh concepts).
• Bonus Skills: AKS, Azure Purview, Databricks, PySpark, or exposure to AI/ML workloads.
