Job summary

Hytech, a leading management consulting firm, seeks a junior Site Reliability Engineer to join its AWS-focused team in Kuala Lumpur. You will ensure availability, design auto-scaling, implement IaC, and automate deployments while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 1–2 years of hands-on experience, scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, Bash), and familiarity with AWS core services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
• 1–2 years hands-on experience as an SRE or similar role.
• Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Experience with Wintel platforms is a plus.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP, IP, Routing).
• Familiarity with AWS core services (EC2, Load Balancer, VPC, SSM, CloudWatch).
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS Lambda).
• AWS certifications are advantageous.
• Shift rotation with extra compensation.
• English and Mandarin proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high availability and performance of AWS infrastructure, applications, and services.
• Design, Architect & Implement auto-scaling, load balancing, and failover strategies in AWS environments.
• Automate repetitive tasks, workflows, and deployments using scripting and automation tools.
• Deploy observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) for system health monitoring.
• Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) for scalable provisioning.
• Provide technical guidance across internal teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business units to align processes with standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure high availability and performance of AWS infrastructure, applications, and services.

• Provide technical guidance and support across our internal team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in relevant field.
• 1 ~ 2 years of hands-on experience as an SRE, Wintel Engineer or in a similar role.
• Expert in scripting languages like Powershell, Python, Bash or other similar languages.
• Experience in Wintel platforms, On Premise is a plus.
• Strong understanding knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP, IP, Routing) & AWS core services such as EC2, Load Balancer, VPC, SSM, CloudWatch etc.
• Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS Lambda etc is a plus.
• Certifications with AWS, security or other infrastructure are advantageous.
• Shift rotation is required with extra compensation.
• Ability to speak & converse in both English & Mandarin.

Working Hours:

• 9am - 6pm (Monday to Friday) during first 1-2 months job training
• 24x7 on-site shift rotation with competitive shift allowance (5 days of work per week).

• KL Eco City (Accessible via LRT and KTM)
