Job summary

TSM Automobile Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our Kota Kinabalu, Sabah team. This full-time role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all vehicles meet safety and performance standards.

You will diagnose, repair, and replace engine components, transmissions, suspension systems, and other parts, while maintaining accurate service records and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship or qualification in automotive mechanics or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 2 - 3 years' hands-on experience working as an automotive mechanic in a professional setting
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, braking, and electrical systems
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, scanning tools, and mechanical hand and power tools
• Solid understanding of automotive repair procedures, safety protocols, and industry best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality workmanship
• Valid driving licence and ability to test drive vehicles
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Knowledge of relevant automotive regulations and compliance requirements in Malaysia

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and identifying mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
• Performing routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and fluid level checks
• Repairing and replacing engine components, transmissions, suspension systems, and other mechanical parts as required
• Conducting vehicle inspections and providing customers with detailed reports on repair requirements and recommendations
• Using specialised tools and equipment to complete repairs safely and efficiently
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards
• Maintaining accurate service records and documentation for all repairs and maintenance performed
• Collaborating with the service team to prioritise repairs and manage workflow effectively
• Providing technical advice to customers regarding vehicle maintenance and repair options
