Job summary

TAN CHONG INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT SDN BHD seeks a skilled commercial vehicle mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs in a timely, high-quality manner. You will inspect engines, transmissions, brakes, and related systems, perform lubrication, and update supervision on progress with clear reports.

Applicants with SKM/MLVK automotive qualifications and at least 1 year of relevant experience are preferred; those with a certificate in automotive work are welcome to apply. Training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Preferably SKM/MLVK automotive engineering certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a commercial vehicle mechanic.
• Mechanic grading and salary depend on experience.
• Certificate in Automotive welcomed for non-experience candidates.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on time with quality workmanship.
• Inspect engine, transmission, brakes and driveline to identify issues.
• Clean and apply lubricants to vehicle components.
• Inspect and adjust clutch and brake systems.
• Provide accurate repair estimates and completion times.
• Update supervisor on progress and report issues.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them timely.
• Repair or replace damaged parts ensuring quality workmanship.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good condition.

Job description

Perform vehicle maintenance services and repairs on time and with good quality workmanship.

Inspect the vehicle’s engine, transmission, axle, brake, etc., to discover functionality issues.

Clean and apply lubricants to vehicle components.

Inspect and adjust the clutch and brake system.

Perform other tasks as per the service manual.

Conduct servicing and repairs to ensure vehicles operate at maximum reliability and functionality.

Update the superior on work progress, jobs performed, and report any issues.

Carry out vehicle troubleshooting on reported problems and resolve them accurately and timely.

Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and ensure quality workmanship.

Repair, service, build, and assemble vehicle components according to the service manual.

Perform overhauling on major vehicle components such as:

Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g., hydraulic system repair, vehicle painting, etc.).

Maintain workshop equipment and tools in good condition

Provide accurate estimates (parts to be changed and completion time) for repair or maintenance jobs to the superior.

Requirements:

Preferably with SKM Certificate / MLVK in Automotive Engineering or equivalent.

Preferably candidates with minimum 1 year working experience as a commercial vehicle mechanic.

(Mechanic grading and basic salary depend on individual experience).

Candidates with no experience but possess a Certificate in Automotive are encouraged to apply.
