Job summary

Yolo Tech Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Automation / Vision Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Pekan Nanas, Johor. This full-time role focuses on developing and implementing automated vision systems that enhance production quality and efficiency.

You will work with QA, Production, Data Analysts and Operations to deploy cutting-edge machine vision and AI techniques across our manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience in machine vision or AI inspection is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cameras, lighting, sensors and automation systems.
• Willingness to learn and work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine vision inspection systems with industrial cameras.
• Configure exposure, lighting, focus and calibration.
• Develop AI datasets for defect detection.
• Design and integrate automated inspection systems.
• Develop HMI and machine control software.
• Integrate cameras, sensors and actuators with production equipment.
• Troubleshoot automation equipment and support commissioning.
• Research and develop new AI and machine vision technologies.

Yolo Tech Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Automation / Vision Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Pekan Nanas, Johor, where you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing automated vision systems and solutions that drive operational excellence across our organisation. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation technology whilst contributing to innovative projects that have a tangible impact on our business operations.

What you'll be doing

• Develop machine vision inspection systems using industrial cameras and lenses.
• Configure exposure, lighting, focus and camera calibration.
• Develop inspection logic for dimensions, holes, scratches, dents and other defects.
• Collect, label, train and validate AI image datasets for defect detection and classification.
• Design and integrate automated inspection systems.
• Develop HMI and machine control software.
• Integrate cameras, sensors and actuators with production equipment.
• Configure PLC communication and industrial networks.
• Support Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP and related communication protocols.
• Support robot integration, pick-and-place applications and motion synchronisation.
• Develop and maintain inspection software, GUI, databases and system documentation.
• Select and optimise cameras, lenses and lighting solutions.
• Troubleshoot automation equipment and support commissioning and preventive maintenance.
• Develop inspection databases, dashboards and traceability reports.
• Research and develop new AI and machine vision technologies.
• Work closely with QA, QC, Production, Data Analyst, Quality Systems Analyst and Operations teams.
• Perform other engineering, automation, AI, machine vision or R&D duties assigned by Management.

What we're looking for

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in machine vision, industrial automation or AI inspection will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of industrial cameras, lighting, sensors and automation systems.
• Familiarity with PLC, HMI and industrial communication protocols is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Willing to learn and work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
