Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a field service engineer to install and test machine vision systems on-site in Penang. You will configure AOI hardware, perform troubleshooting, and provide hands-on support to customers.

The role requires travel, strong teamwork, and the ability to train customers on operation and maintenance of vision systems. A bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronic engineering is preferred, with 1–2 years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
• Chinese speaker preferred to liaise with customers.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting on equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of machine vision / image processing / motion control is an added advantage.
• 1–2 years of related work experience preferred.
• Must be responsible, independent, and have good interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management, multi-tasking, and priority planning.
• Willingness to travel locally and overseas as required.

Responsibilities

• On-site system setup and testing for machine vision systems such as AOI.
• Troubleshooting and providing technical support to customers.
• Minor and basic mechanical fine-tuning and adjustment in-house and on-site.
• Integrate and configure machine vision hardware (lighting, controller, camera, lenses, optics).
• Conduct customer training on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Perform sample evaluation to study machine vision/motion control feasibility.
• Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure tasks are followed up on-site.
• Send daily activity reports by email to customers and teams.

• Responsible for onsite system setup and testing for machine vision system such as Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machine.
• Perform troubleshooting and provide technical assistance to customers.
• Responsible for minor and basic mechanical fine-tuning and adjustment in-house and on-site.

• Conduct customer training on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance.

• Perform daily reporting through email to customers and respective teams on your daily activities.

Job Requirements

• Preferably Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate in Engineering (preferably Electrical / Electronic) or equivalent.
• Chinese speaker proficiency is preferred to liaise with customers.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting on equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of machine vision / image processing / motion control is an added advantage.
• Preferable 1-2 year(s) of working experience in the related field.
• Responsible, able to work independently, initiative and good interpersonal skills.
• Discipline, strong time management skill, multi-tasking with priority planning.
• Willing to travel both locally and overseas as required by the job needs.
