Job summary

M8M Pte Ltd in Penang seeks a design engineer to design and manage automation equipment panels, from schematic design to site installation, BOM, RFQ, and FAT documentation. You will liaise with consultants, contractors and suppliers to resolve design issues and ensure smooth project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic Engineering with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical hardware or automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in electrical hardware, control systems, or automation design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD (SolidWorks) or EPLAN is a plus.
• Understanding of industrial control panels, power distribution, and LV systems.
• Ability to collaborate across mechanical, software, and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schematic design, site installation layout, calculations, technical reports and specifications for automation equipment panel
• Liaise with external consultant teams, contractors and suppliers to resolve project electrical design issues
• Generate BOM and RFQ document
• Communicate with contractor for automation equipment panel fabrication
• Prepare factory acceptance test document for automation equipment panel
• Liaise with Project Manager on automation equipment panel acceptance before ship to site
• Update Circuit diagram, Control device and Equipment Installation layout
