Job summary

PixArt Imaging in Penang, Malaysia seeks an engineer to maintain and improve automated lab equipment. You will manage calibration of measurement instruments and support design verification with jig/fixture fabrication, while sourcing mechanical and electronic components.

The role includes delivering a preventive maintenance plan, in-house troubleshooting, and supporting R&D tester conversions. Relevant diploma/engineering degree and CAD proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or related field.
• Proficient in 3D/2D mechanical CAD software.
• Familiar with jig/fixture fabrication (machining, 3D printing) is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve automated lab equipment.
• Maintain lab measurement instruments, manage calibration schedules and documentation.
• Support design verification and product characterization; design/manage jigs and fixtures; source components.
• Deliver preventive maintenance master plan for equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair in-house equipment.
• Support R&D in-house tester conversion.

Job description

• Responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of Automated Lab Equipment.


• Maintain lab measurement instruments (electrical and mechanical), including managing the calibration schedule and documentation.


• Support the design verification and product characterization needs of engineers. This includes designing and managing the fabrication of jigs and fixtures, and maintaining and sourcing for required mechanical and electronic components.


• Delivered equipment preventive maintenance master plan.


• In-house equipment troubleshooting and repair.


• Support R&D in house tester conversion.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or other relevant field.


• Competency in 3D and 2D mechanical CAD software.


• Familiarity with jig and fixture fabrication (machining, 3D printing) would be an advantage.


• Soft skill: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Optional:

• Able to read and understand schematic drawings


• Hands-on experience in soldering for repair and rework
