Job summary

Coherent Malaysia (formerly II-VI Incorporated) seeks an Equipment Maintenance Engineer to maintain and improve oven/chamber equipment, control systems, and setup parameters for reliable operation.

You will drive Lean and automation improvements, manage spare parts and supplier support, troubleshoot issues, and support testing and qualification activities while ensuring compliance with Safety, ISO, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
• At least 1 year of Equipment Maintenance/Testing experience.
• With good computer literacy, good communication skill and reporting of information/data.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting a wide range of desktop software and components.
• Experience in equipment's Total Control Methodology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve oven/chamber equipment and control systems.
• Drive automation, Lean practices, process optimization, and cycle time reduction.
• Manage chamber spare parts, inventory, and supplier support.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support thermal stress testing, burn-in, environmental testing, and product qualification.
• Evaluate, qualify, and validate equipment before production release.
• Monitor performance, analyze trends, and improve reliability and energy efficiency.
• Prepare and maintain SOPs, work instructions, maintenance records, calibration reports, and safety procedures.
• Provide training to manufacturing teams on chamber operation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, ESD, Quality, ISO, and regulatory requirements; support audits.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Process, and R&D to resolve issues and support operations.
• Perform risk assessments and stop unsafe operations as needed.
