Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Engineer to sustain and enhance oven/chamber systems. You will drive Lean improvements, manage spare parts and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure reliable production capability.

The role supports thermal testing, qualification activities and production readiness, collaborating with Production, Quality and R&D teams. Strong hardware interest and desktop software skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
• At least 1 yr of Equipment Maintenance/Testing experience & testing methodologies.
• Good computer literacy, communication skills and ability to report information/data.
• Strong interest in computer hardware engineering.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting desktop software and components.
• Experience with Total Control Methodology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve oven/chamber equipment, including control systems, software and setup parameters.
• Drive continuous improvement via automation, Lean practices, process optimization and cycle time reduction.
• Manage chamber spare parts, inventory and supplier support to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support thermal stress testing, burn-in, environmental testing and new product qualification.
• Evaluate, qualify and validate oven/chamber equipment before production release.
