Ecovis Assurance LLP in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Audit Manager to lead and manage audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring high-quality audits in line with standards and firm policies.

You will mentor audit teams, manage client relationships, and provide insights to strengthen financial reporting, internal controls, and business processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of auditing experience with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills; excellent English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end audit engagements including risk assessment, planning, execution, review and reporting.
• Supervise and develop audit teams, ensuring high-quality, efficient delivery and learning culture.
• Evaluate risks and internal controls across financial, operational, compliance, IT and manufacturing functions.
• Identify significant issues and provide practical recommendations to improve controls.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Audit Manager to join our dynamic Audit team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will lead and manage audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audits in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies. You will also play a key role in developing and mentoring audit team members, managing client relationships, and providing valuable insights and recommendations to help clients strengthen their financial reporting, internal controls, and business processes.

Qualifications & experience

• A recognized Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline is required.
• Minimum 6 years of working experience in auditing, with at least 1 year of proven experience in a managerial role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills, with excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Task & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end audit engagements, including risk assessment, audit strategy, planning, execution, review, and reporting, in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.
• Lead, supervise, and develop audit teams, ensuring the high-quality, efficient, and timely delivery of audit assignments while fostering a strong culture of learning and performance.
• Evaluate key business risks and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance, policies, and processes across financial, operational, compliance, IT, and manufacturing functions.
• Identify significant accounting, auditing, control, and operational issues, and provide practical recommendations to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and mitigate business risks.
• Prepare and present clear and actionable audit reports; liaise with senior management, clients, external auditors, and regulators; and monitor the implementation of agreed remediation actions.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, support risk management and governance initiatives, conduct investigations into fraud or control breaches when required, and contribute to business and firm growth.
