Job summary

VS Industry Bhd is seeking an Asst Officer - Safety/ EHS in Senai, Johor to support OSH compliance and EHS program execution. You will assist in liaising with authorities, developing policies, coordinating safety initiatives, and conducting audits.

The role requires a strong grasp of OSHA, CSR knowledge, and ISO 14001 awareness. You will organize training, drills, and safety awareness, while preparing monthly EHS reports and ensuring timely corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) or related field.
• Knowledge of OSHA and related legal requirements.
• Knowledge of CSR and ISO 14001 is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work in Senai, Johor.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in liaising with relevant government authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental, and other statutory requirements.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and review of OSH policies, procedures, Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and related documentation.
• Coordinate and promote safety, health, and environmental programs and activities within the workplace.
• Conduct Safety & Health Committee meetings, workplace inspections, and safety audits, including preparation of meeting minutes and reports.
• Prepare monthly EHS reports and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure.
• Monitor, compile, and analyze EHS data and reports to ensure compliance with applicable legal and company requirements.
• Assist in organizing safety training, emergency response drills, and awareness programs for employees.
• Ensure proper implementation of ISO 14001 and other EHS management system requirements where applicable.

Job Requirements

• Possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) or related field.
• Knowledge in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) and related legal requirements.
• Able to work independently with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Candidates must be willing to work in Senai, Johor.
