Job summary

HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Associate to join the Corporate Banking team. You will support origination and execution of debt financing, conduct due diligence, financial modelling, and structure transactions to deliver client solutions.

You will work with cross-functional partners, manage risks, maintain the sales pipeline, and contribute to RoRWA targets while upholding risk and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in debt, leveraged, structured finance or corporate banking
• Proven ability to grow revenue through tailored solutions and new business
• Experience building external networks and client relationships based on trust
• Strong understanding of commercial and financial risk
• Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data and perform financial modelling
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint; financial modelling experience is vital
• Excellent time management and ability to deliver with high quality on schedule
• Ability to engage diverse stakeholders and work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Support origination and execution of debt financing transactions from pitching to legal documentation
• Perform due diligence and financial modelling to assess risk and structure transactions
• Contribute to credit approval processes ensuring key risks are identified
• Collaborate with CIB & CMA to deliver holistic client solutions
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to support transaction execution
• Maintain visibility over pipeline across segments for senior management oversight
• Drive RoRWA on Structured Lending Solutions to meet targets
• Adhere to operational risk and reporting standards and escalate breaches
