Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Bukit Minyak, Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an Associate Process Engineer to drive cost, quality and delivery improvements in our manufacturing environment.

You will define and implement manufacturability for processes, investigate root causes, support ECOs, develop process controls and transfer new processes to production with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience.
• Use of PCB operations such as color code, components and schematics.
• May require various PCB operations and testing equipment.
• Testing: oscilloscope, cable and harness testing, troubleshooting, component testing, logic analyzer.
• Inspection: bare board, systems, components, cable and harness, microscope, measuring tools.
• Mechanical & Electrical Tools: taps and dies, alignment tools, measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Recognize the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques and the product.
• Define, implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
• Identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.
• Participate in daily production activities and problem solving.
• Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production.
• Oversee new process equipment production and ECOs.
• Establish robust, repeatable process parameters.
• Develop, implement and own process control methodologies.
• Troubleshoot process related issues.
• Participate in cycle time and process improvements.
• Evaluate and select engineered materials.
• Implement statistical process control on new and existing products.
• Improve safety, productivity and throughput.
• Provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer.
