Job summary

A leading financial institution in Malaysia is looking for a professional to manage custody client management and middle office services. The ideal candidate will oversee financial targets, ensure quality service delivery, and maintain compliance with all legal and operational procedures. Responsibilities also include enhancing relationships with internal clients and managing new custody services such as digital and tokenized assets. This is a vital role that combines client interaction with strategic operational management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage custody client services, including middle office and digital asset custody.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Business Units to secure external clients.
  • Ensure financial targets of Custody products are met.
  • Oversee quality of service and timely query closure.
  • Facilitate operational delivery from Custody Ops team.
  • Review operational processes for improvements.
  • Adhere to departmental procedures and controls.
  • Review legal documentation for compliance.
  • Ensure audit and compliance requirements are met.
  • Implement client onboarding and business process improvements.
  • Maintain relationships with internal clients.
  • Manage new custody services including digital assets.
Job description
Responsibilities
  1. Perform the role of and to provide the services of custody client management, middle office and digital asset custody.
  2. Partnering with Sales team and Business Units to identify opportunities and jointly collaborate on custody business and securing external clients.
  3. Ensure financial targets of Custody product are met and seeking ways to improve its bottom line and prevent revenue leakages.
  4. Responsible for overall quality of client’s servicing, queries and prompt closure.
  5. Engage and ensure GO – Custody Ops team and providers delivers as per agreed levels of service.
  6. Conduct end-to-end reviews of all processes and procedures with a focus to remediate any control gaps and to improve efficiency, capacity and quality.
  7. Responsible for adherence to all departmental procedures, policies checkpoints and controls.
  8. Review legal documentation mainly Custodian Agreement, OM with clients and providers.
  9. Responsible for the audit, compliance, business continuity management and due diligence by clients and regulators.
  10. Responsible for the implementation of client on-boarding, asset transitions, business process improvement and change management.
  11. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and operational groups.
  12. Undertake projects/assignment from time to time.
  13. To manage new custody services such as middle office custody, digital asset custody, tokenised securities, and the likes.
  14. Middle Office - Trade Management, Recordkeeping, Reconciliation, Corporate Actions, Data Management, Information Delivery/Reporting, Client Service, System, etc
    1. Digital Asset Custody – Safekeeping, Post-Trade Settlement, Technological Ecosystem, Reconciliation, etc
    2. Tokenised Securities – Reconciliation on-chain and off-chain, E2E process, Recordkeeping of Tokenised Securities, Client Service, Subscription and Redemption, etc
