Job summary

Experian Marketing Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Associate Developer to design, develop and maintain software using Java 21+ and Spring, with RESTful APIs and cloud readiness. You will build microservices, optimize data queries in MySQL/PostgreSQL, and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices.

The role reports to the Development Team Lead and embraces AI-assisted development to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of Java 21+, Spring Framework, JDBC, and Object-Oriented Programming principles.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, software engineering principles, and scalable application design.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL, SQL optimisation, and data modelling concepts.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, software testing, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Interest in designing reliable, resilient, and observable systems for large-scale data processing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software programs in accordance with requirements and standards.
• Develop and maintain Java-based applications using Java 21+, Spring, Gradle.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and data integration solutions with MySQL; design efficient queries.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance across environments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, cloud-native development and observability.
• Collaborate with Development Leads to estimate, design, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Explore Generative AI tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Report to Development Team Lead.
